Reverend Bill Haddock - Senior Pastor
Reverend Susan Hobbs - Associate Pastor
Susan has worked in programming for children, youth and adults at Garner United Methodist Church since August 1990. Prior to coming to Garner, she was Program Director at Fairmont UMC for 12 years. She graduated from Pemboke State University, now University of NC at Pembroke, with a degree in Religion. She did her graduate work at North Carolina State University with a Masters in Counseling. She attended the Local License Pastors School at Duke in May of 2001, and is currently enrolled for the Course of Study at Duke Divinity School. She is married to Bill Hobbs, who works at Duke Medical Center in the Department of Engineering and Operations. They have two children, Christy and Brian, and a beautiful granddaughter Kaylyn.
Randy Chandler - Director of Musical Ministries
Randy is a native to Tulsa, Oklahoma. He received a Bachelors of Music Education and a Master of Education from Oklahoma State University. He taught music for twenty-eight years in the Owasso Public School System, which is a suburb of Tulsa. He was the choir director for the middle school for thirteenyears and high school director for fifteen years. He also served as the director of music ministries at Owasso First Methodist Church for nearly two years before moving to Garner in 2006. He joined the staff at Garner United Methodist in 2009. Randy is married to Julie and has two sons and two grandchildren in the Tulsa area.
Kristy, a life-long member of GUMC, is excited to join the church staff as the Media and Technical Director. Kristy is a graduate of Elon University and has accumulated more than 10 years marketing experience. In her new role, she will be responsible for developing our website ministry, coordinating our technical media and sound for worship services, and supporting the staff on various marketing initiatives. She is married to Matt and they have two children, Wiley and Rachel.
Wanda Hudson - Office Manager
Wanda has been a member of Garner Methodist Church for 30 years. She is married to Howard Hudson and they have two children, Sammy and Kristy, four adorable grandchildren and one sweet dog. Wanda has more than 10 years of administrative experience and she is eager to serve GUMC as the Office Manager.
Carol Hunter - Preschool Director
Carol and her husband Bob have been members of GUMC since 1995 and have two boys, Robert and Aaron. Carol started at the preschool as a teacher in 1997 and took over as Director in the fall of 2007. Carol’s children went through the preschool and she is excited to see the preschool grow and to see the addition of the Track-out program in 2008.
Carol Kamp - Accompanist
Carol has been a member of GUMC since 2006 having moved to Garner in 2003 from her home state of Indiana. She received a BA in Music Education from Oberlin Conservatory of Music, was a private piano instructor, and has been an avid handbell ringer for more than 20 yrs. She is married to Harold and they have two daughters, Sylvia in New Orleans and Erika in Boston and one granddaughter.
Chris Kelly - Worship Leader, Journey of Grace
Chris has been leading contemporary worship in the Triangle area since 1998. A graduate of North Carolina State University and active member of the Emmaus Community, Chris uses his professional theater and rock and roll background to create a vibrant and passionate worship environment at our contemporary service on Sundays at 9:45. “We don’t put on a show but we do strive for excellence in all we do musically.” Chris is married to Marcia and has two boys, Devin and Sawyer. Horses, dogs and fish, oh my!
Kat Lewis - Children's Ministry Coordinator
Kat and husband, Bryan have been members of GUMC for 13 years. While raising their children, Wesley, Dane, and Autumn in the programs at Garner Methodist, Kat has served as children's program coordinator, VBS director, and planned the annual fall festival for several years. Although her degree is in public health, she has found the most joy in being active in her kids activities and looks forward to continually serving this church by planning the ministries of our precious children.
Martha Liles - Lay Ministries Coordinator
Martha and her husband, Robert and daughter Audrey have been a part of our congregation for some time. Martha joined the staff on a part-time basis in January of 2000. She is responsible for developing and coordinating a variety of lay ministries, especially to our visitors, new members and shut-ins.
Bill McClure - Organist
Bill McClure has been a member of GUMC since 1974. He became interim Organist in November of 1999 and staff Organist in May 2000. He graduated from Campbell college(now Campbell University) in 1972 with a BA degree in music. He is married to Jean, whose helps him in many ways. Their daughter, Kimberly, is a Freshman at Wake Technical Community College.
Heather Spesshardt - Children's Ministry Coordinator
Heather, an NC native, is a life-long member of the United Methodist Church. Heather, a Meredith College and UNCW graduate, brings more than 7 years of education experience, ranging from pre-K to undergraduate college instruction and curriculum development. Along with Kat, she is thrilled to help shape and grow our children's ministry program at GUMC. She is married to Brant and is proud to be "Mommy" to two terrific boys, Quinn and Holden.
Patricia Suttle - Director of Youth/Young Adults and Church Librarian
Al has served Garner United Methodist Church since 1998 as the church sexton. He is married to Joy and has two children.

Reverend Bill Haddock - Senior Pastor
Bill grew up near Vanceboro, NC in the Piney Neck community. After graduating from West Craven High School, he then graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1977 and Duke Divinity School in 1980. Over the past 30 years, Bill has served churches in Durham County, Greene County, Alamance County, Wilmington.
Bill is married to Jean and they have two children: Gaby who lives in Portland, OR and Will who lives in Lafayette, LA. Will is married to Kara and they have a son, Aengus, who was born in February, 2010.

Patricia Suttle - Director of Youth/Young Adults and Church Librarian
Patricia joined the staff in June 2003, moving here from Hatteras Island. Patricia is married to Shannon and is blessed to have him as her partner in ministry. They have a son Chris, daughter-in-law Stacy, grandson Ethan, daughter Melissa and son-in-law Adam. Patricia is passionate and committed to sharing with the youth and young adults of our church and our community how their lives can be forever changed by developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Al Sutton - Facility ManagerAl has served Garner United Methodist Church since 1998 as the church sexton. He is married to Joy and has two children.
