Adult Sunday School Classes

We encourage all ages to participate in Sunday School and small groups. As a result, our classes will begin meeting each Sunday morning at 9:30 am and we encourage each of you to read about our various classes to learn more about what we have to offer. If you have any questions about any of the classes, please stop by the church office or the welcome center for the location of the class room of your choice.

Each Adult Sunday School Class at Garner United Methodist provides a supportive place in which people can study, fellowship, worship and serve. Regardless of the class description all adults are welcome in any class. Come, join in!

Seekers
Have you been feeling a tug to go deeper into the Scriptures and into your relationship with Jesus? What about a desire to connect on a more personal level with those you worship with each week? Would you like to get to know those around you and begin to share a "Faith Journey". If that is the case, there is a  Sunday School class for you.  Our second study book is "Revelation; The Christian's Ultimate Victory" by John MacArthur.  The Book of Revelation has captured our attention, so we now plan to explore the actual scripture.  Please join in when you have the opportunity.

L.O.S.T.
L.O.S.T. (Like Others Studying Together) is a class for mid-twenties to late thirties that will meet for fellowship and spiritual growth led by a DVD driven curriculum that will deal with current issues as it relates to the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This group recognizes the busy lifestyles of this age group but feels the need to be in study together.

ACTS Class
The Bible is a Storybook - God's Story about us. Using the Adult Bible Series, the class will focus on making the Biblical context relevant to our contemporary and cultural lives. With the use of story, drama, the arts and illustration, Biblical Truth will come alive. The class, facilitated by Rev. Chuck Killian, will call for active interaction and participation so that we discover all our stories, are in part, His Story.

The Bible Class
Primarily consists of married couples and singles with young and teen-aged children. This group meets to study and discuss a curriculum focused on issues related to family and Christian life by using The LifeGuide Bible Study. A major component of this group is the service-oriented activities that serve as the centerpiece of the outreach of the class.

Johnson-Crutchfield Sunday School Class
An eclectic group of individuals and couples dedicated to God's purpose through fellowship and worship. While using the Adult Bible Series, our class focuses on contemporary issues through investigation of historical principles of the Bible and God's law. A major focus of the class is to apply the teachings of the Bible to the situations faced in the contemporary world. We are a group of younger to older believers who welcome all who wish to put the principles of God's law to work in the modern world. We believe the answers to today's trials and tribulations are found in the history, principles, and laws contained in the Holy Bible. Come visit with us for a breakfast treat and most of the time fresh coffee has been brewed.

James Auman Class
The James Auman Sunday School Class has been in existence for more than 35 years. The members consist of couples and singles. We are a "mature" class, at least, most of the time. We study the International Standard Lesson and have five teachers. We assist with HOPE ministries and other outreach projects GUMC supports. The class provides assistance in the church family and community as needs arise. We have a passion for the Mission to Haiti and focus year-round on providing clothing and funds for the Haitian people. We have recently adopted a 5 year old Haitian girl and support her with financial assistance and our love. We love the Lord and want to serve Him as he guides us. We hope you will come and join us!

Nannie Bryan Class
This Sunday School class is named in honor of Mrs. Nannie Bryan, an early member of our church. We are non-age specific, and welcome ladies of all ages who desire to unite with us in Christian fellowship. We promote Bible scripture reading and studying the weekly lesson, along with everyday Christian living among the members. This is a Sunday School class that is loving, caring and nurturing. Are you looking for such a class? If so, we sincerely invite you to join us.

Nell Henderson Class

This informal gathering offers an opportunity to connect with each other and share as the body of Christ. To further their fellowship, this class participates in numerous community, inter-social and church activities including HOPE ministry, Haitian mission, Warmth for Wake/Fans for Wake, and regularly supports Garner Area Ministries to outreach to those in our community.
