Serve: Music Ministry

Below is a current listing of opportunities to serve in our Music Ministry. The items that are bold represent an immediate need that we have.

Chancel Choir Servant - Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description:  No audition required.  The Chancel Choir is responsible for providing music for the 11:00am worship service.  Many members also commit to sing one or more Sundays per month for the 8:30am service. 

Emphasis is placed on being led by the Holy Spirit as we lead in worship through music.  We strive for choral excellence as we focus on the details of intonation, tone quality and expressive singing.  The ability to read music is not required. 
Location:  Choir Room
Times:  Rehearsals on Wednesdays from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. and Sundays at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Handbell Choir Servant - Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description:  Interview  required.  The Handbell Choir provides music for four or five traditional worship services throughout the year from September through May.  The ability to read music is helpful but not required.

Location:  Room 220
Times:  Rehearsals on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:25

Festival Choir Servant - Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description:  No audition required.  This group joins with the chancel choir to prepare music for the Christmas and Easter seasons.  This is a great opportunity for the person that likes to sing but cannot commit to weekly rehearsals. The ability to read music is not required.

Location:  Choir Room
Times:  Nine or Ten rehearsals on Wednesdays from 7:30 to 8:15

Men’s Ensemble Servant - Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description:  No audition required.  Open to all men.  This group may only sing a few times a year, but do they ever pack a punch.  Come check out the camaraderie of this group of singing men.

Location:  Choir Room
Times:  Two or Three rehearsals before each scheduled service on Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:30

Ladies Ensemble Servant - Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description:  No audition required.  Open to all ladies.  This group leads the music in the traditional services two to three times a year.  The music is beautiful and the fellowship is sweet.   This is a great opportunity for the lady who likes to sing but cannot commit to weekly rehearsals.

Location:  Choir Room
Times:  Two or Three rehearsals before each scheduled service on Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:30

Saints Alive Servant - Make a Commitment to Serve

• Description:  No audition required.  This choir offers seniors and others who love to sing an opportunity to get together with people who can no longer attend worship in a sanctuary setting.  We sing old familiar hymns.  The only requirement is to take part and make a joyful noise to the Lord.  Selections are made by the participants and enjoyed by all.  We sing from big print music books with key signatures that are lower than normal.

Location:  Total Life Center with the Adult Daycare Class
Times:  Second and Forth Wednesdays from 2:30 to 3:15
